Before I became a dog trainer, I was a photographer. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Photography from the "way back machine", over 15 years ago... I made, showed and sold work during and after college for many years. The dog photos on my website are by and large all my work even now. 

The art world though being the cantankerous lot that it is eventually made me weary and I decided to opt for something else I liked doing that would more routinely yield a basic 'return on investment'. However, I have a pretty sizable collection of art and routinely add new works. A separate but growing collection of art I own has a dog theme and still includes really striking pieces- with a related dog/animal theme.
I like the above body of work [ from an exhibit on shelter dogs] The photos move me, and they are just good photos with or without the subject matter being what it is...
